SISO Open House

This time I performed in a play.

It was a completely professionally acted and very well directed. We started our practices just 4 days before. The director was outsourced from a drama company in Bangalore. The mobile group had an open house session at SAINT JOHN’s auditorium in which we have to perform. Around thousand people were expected to come in this session. This was to communicate between employees and managers relationship.
I with my drama crew reached there by 11:30 am. I didn’t do any work in office as I already updated to my manager regarding this. As soon as we reached we had to start practice. Many of us were performing for the first time. So it was necessary. Also we had to practice with the collar-mic and for coordination. So we rehearsed there for one or two times. Till that time it was 3 PM already and the show was supposed to start. The play was related to the employee-employer relationship. So there was no chance of much humor. Every dialog was to be serious in the script.
We had our lunch very soon and joined the Open House.

First our vice president gave his presentation for an hour then there was a singing show. Some singers were outsourced to perform for the function. Our show was right after their performance. Everybody gathered backstage. Each of us was concern about his/her performance. Few people were repeating their lines. Some were dancing and singing in funny ways and some were taking photos in different poses. We all had dressed up with our costumes.
As we were behind the stage, we were able to listen the cheering crowd. The singing crew was performing very well. We were dancing behind the stage. All of sudden one backstage person from singing crew offered us to join performers for dance when performers were singing Kajraare song. I with three more persons entered dancing. As soon as we entered, the crowd went like crazy they all started shouting. We were dancing like anything. After sometime we made a circle around the girl performer. She also started enjoying this. We went back and picked some props like umbrella, flowers and sparkles and offered to the girl. At this some people from the crowd also came to the stage and joined us to dance. After some five minutes we came back to stage. All of us were feeling a lot of heat. We had to calm down for our play as it was next. We were supposed to start at 5 pm but it was already 5:15.

HR invited us to stage after 10 minutes. We stared our play. There were clapping in some scenes. The funniest was last scene in which some people were speaking about their general office problems. Play finished in15 minutes. We all went to the front stage and we bowed and greeted to the audience. Video I’ll be sharing soon.
Right after this, at the backstage everybody was cheering for the successful play. The director took our autograph in a stress ball. We all dispersed in half an hour. I had some snacks and came back to the audience to listen some other program. After some one hour program we all left to our place.
